MELA+
We produce sustainable fashion without compromise: 100% fair trade and organic certified. As a sustainable fashion company, we also have a responsibility to make daily decisions about how we can make our fashion even better beyond existing certifications.
We almost always make decisions that benefit people and the environment. And these decisions almost always result in additional costs: costs that have risen steadily since we were founded in 2014 and have recently risen rapidly. The price increases for cotton alone were more than 50 percent last year.
It goes against our principles to increase prices across the board, because we want everyone to be able to afford sustainable fashion. That's why we let you decide for yourself whether you can and want to pay more for our sustainability commitment MELA+.

Our MELA+ commitment in the supply chain
Together with our textile producer Purecotz, we are a pilot partner and licensee of the Fairtrade textile standard. For the first time, living wages and therefore significantly higher wages are being introduced instead of the usual minimum wages along the entire supply chain.
Inspired by the Cradle to Cradle design principle, we are constantly optimizing our products. The goal is to use materials and accessories that are 100% natural and plastic-free. Our costly but particularly environmentally worthy successes are iron-on interlinings, labels and sewing threads made of cotton, as well as corozo buttons, instead of environmentally harmful, petroleum-based polyester or plastic materials.
In our shoe production in Sri Lanka, we promote organic farming in rubber plantations and finance the rubber tappers to set up their own organic vegetable gardens.
